After a long illness Lorri Barman of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2009 surrounded by family and Rabbi Murray Ezring of Temple Israel.
Lorri was the oldest daughter of the late Florence and Simon Green.She was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Charlotte, NC since 1974.
She was an accomplished artist and teacher.Lorri received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University.She taught flower arranging until her illness forced her to stop.
She is survived by her husband Marvin, her children Scott and Linda Barman of Rockville, MD. Joel and Joanna Barman of Indian Trail, NC and Rabbi David and Clara Barman of N. Miami Beach, FL., her grandchildren Binyomin, Eliezer, Jacob and Emma.She is also survived by her brother Harvey Green and his wife Rae of Kailua, HI and her sister Barbara Loftus of Charlotte, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be private and a Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Temple Israel, 4901 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC
Lorri was a long time member of Temple Israel, Temple Israel Sisterhood, Hadassah and was a past president of the Charlotte Chapter of B’nai B’rith Women now known as Jewish Women International.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Temple Israel or to The Lupus Foundation of America.
