Virginia Maddox Cooper, died August 30, 2009. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on May
7, 1931, she was the daughter of Moreland Emerson Maddox and Virginia Frazier
Maddox. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Henry Burwell Cooper, Jr. and sons
Kent Burwell Cooper and wife, Nancy; William Owen Cooper and wife, Laura; and
Henry Moreland Cooper and wife, Donna. She is also survived by a sister, Mary J.
Reynolds and five grandchildren, Ben, Luke, Elizabeth, Alexa and Henry Pierce Cooper,
all of Charlotte. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their many kindnesses. There
will be a private graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford, NC on Friday,
September 4, at 11:30 am. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care,
