Mr. Eadie, 97 of Elizabeth City, NC and former longtime resident of Charlotte, died Monday, May 17, 2010.
He was born November 25, 1912 in Macon County, Alabama son of the late Edward James and Anise Lastinger Eadie. Having earned his degree in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina, he went on to own and operate Medical Pharmacy in Charlotte for many years. He served his country during World War II, was a long time member of St. John’s Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Frances Baker Eadie.
Survivors include his children, Jane Eadie Parham and husband, Bill, of Charlotte, NC, Dr. Edward B. Eadie, Jr and wife, Nancy, of Elizabeth City, NC; and Robert B. Eadie and wife, Gayle of Key West, FL; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and sister in law, Margaret Eadie of Meggett, SC. Special thanks to the caring staff of Carolina House in Elizabeth City and to his loving caregivers Bea, Ruth, Melvia, and Barbara.
Funeral services will be from the graveside at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte, NC at 11:00 am Friday, May 21, 2010 with The Reverend Jay Weigel, officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Community Hospice, 800 Tiffany Blvd. Rocky Mount, NC 27804-1109
