Mrs. Greene, aged 82, of Charlotte, NC, died July 22, 2009, of complications of Alzheimer's disease. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Charlotte, at ten o'clock in the morning.
Mrs. Greene was born on September 1, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, to Michael Gonia and Severina Kemnitz. Before her illness she made her home in Hathaway Pines, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and was the widow of Robert C. Greene. Mrs. Greene's first marriage to Richard J. Hanover ended in divorce.
She is survived by a daughter, Holly Hanover Johnson, of Charlotte; son, Richard Jay Hanover (Josephine) of Moss Landing, CA; grandchildren, Heather Johnson Shorter, Lara J. Rouse, Christian M. Johnson, Neil R. Hanover, Jessamine J. Deeming, Alan J. Hanover; and several great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Charlotte.
