Charles Hairston, singer, songwriter, and beloved entertainer passedaway early Monday morning. He was 61.
Mr. Hairston died of prostate cancer at Levine-Dickson Hospice House in
Huntersville, NC.
Charles William Hairston was born on September 4, 1947 in Michigan City,
Indiana. As a veteran of the Armed Services, he served in Vietnam.
He is survived by his precious mother Vernana Huddleston, siblings Tony
Huddleston, Natalie Huddleston, Marvin Huddleston, Wendy E. Mason, and
Lisa Jones, brothers in law Ruppert Mason and JR Jones, and niece and
nephew Shimreah Rainey and Joshua Jones.
Charles was known for his big smile, open heart and generous nature. He
will be sorely missed.
A public memorial service is planned for 4 PM, March 8 at The
Neighborhood Theatre, Charlotte, NC 28205.
