Michael Carl Hudson, 48, of Charlotte died Monday, May 25. He was born July 23, 1960 in Washington, D.C. to Michael Boyd Hudson and Elaine Anne (Coleman) Hudson currently of Kensington, MD.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette Huet and their son and daughter, Lucas and Alexandra Huet-Hudson of Charlotte, brother, Edward of Maryland and his children, Brittany, Ariana and Savannah Hudson; brother, Thomas of Maryland and his children, Joseph, Laura and David Hudson, sister, Laura Martin of New Jersey and husband James and their children, Zachary and Taylor, Uncle Steve Hudson and his family and many other uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws.
Dr. Hudson was a Professor and former Chairperson of Biology at UNC Charlotte.. He did his graduate work at the University of Kansas, Lawrence where he became a lifelong Jayhawk basketball fan. His postdoctoral training was completed at Washington University in St. Louis. He moved to Charlotte, NC in 1990 where he became an equally avid Carolina Panthers fan. UNC Charlotte was where he continued his long and productive research career and was an honored and dedicated teacher, mentor and colleague. Dr. Hudson received numerous grants and awards for his innovative research, exceptional teaching and community service.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the chapel at J. B. Tallent Funeral Service & Crematory in Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund for the children of Michael C. Hudson at the State Employees Credit Union, 8605 University City Blvd. Charlotte, North Carolina, 28213. |
