Mr. Kessler, 70 of Charlotte, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 in the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; son, Gary L. Kessler and wife, Sarah; daughters, Carrie Lalik and husband, Marcel; Erin Anderson and husband, Jason; two grandsons, Tye and Clay Lalik; brother, Roger Kessler and sister, Rochelle Brown.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Richmond, VA.
