Dr. Kincaid, 60, of Charlotte, died May 17, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on June 27, 1949, to the late Dan H. and Annie Stabler Kincaid and grew up in Bessemer City, NC. He attended Wofford College on a football scholarship and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. After receiving his degree from the UNC School of Dentistry, Dr. Kincaid served for two years in the US Air Force at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas.
In 1977, Dr. Kincaid and his wife Elizabeth moved to Charlotte, where he established his dental practice. He was a member of the ADA and NC Dental Society, as well as the Charlotte Dental Society, of which he was a past president. He loved the practice of dentistry and considered his staff and patients to be his extended family. In addition, he was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon. His hobbies were spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and cheering on the Tar Heels.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Davis Kincaid; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ray Lopez, of Chile; daughter Maggie Kincaid of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Susan Kincaid, of Hendersonville, NC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Edward Roberson, of Tarboro, NC; niece Betsy Morrison, husband Knox, and their children of Concord, NC; nephew Ed Roberson and wife Kim of Costa Rica.
A memorial service for Dr. Kincaid will be held at Sardis Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 22, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. J. Thomas Kort officiating. Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall immediately after the service.
