Mrs. McGuinn, 90, of Charlotte, N.C., died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at her home.
She was born May 5, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA., a daughter of the late Henry Bacon and Margaret Regina Brennan Bacon. Mrs. McGuinn served her country as a Pharmacist Mate First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was the wife of the late James Joseph McGuinn, who preceded her in death in 1992 and was a longtime member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at The Catholic Parish of St. Vincent dePaul by The Reverend Mark S. Lawlor, Celebrant.
The family will greet friends from 10:30-11:30 A.M. prior to the Mass. Interment will be private.
Mary is survived by her children, Marita McGuinn Armistead, of Charlotte, Michael James McGuinn (Susan), of Denver, CO, Eileen McGuinn Patrick (David) and Mary Margaret McGuinn Brodrick (Richard), of Charlotte; Daughter-in-law, Patricia Moffatt McGuinn, and 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. McGuinn was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen McGuinn in 1948 and son, Kevin McGuinn in 2008, and by a grandson, Ryan McGuinn and granddaughter, Elizabeth McGuinn.
