Obituaries

The Lord called home one of his most humble and willing servants on Saturday, May 23, 2009.  Mrs.  Monroe died at home following a courageous nine year battle with Multiple Myeloma and Alzheimer’s.  Lowrena loved and lived by her Bible.  Throughout her life she gave and cared for others selflessly.  During healthy times, she was deeply involved in the work of Third Presbyterian church as a Sunday school teacher and Elder.  Lowrena always had a “project” in process; a lonely person in need that she would focus on to see that all their needs were met with compassion and close attention.  Lowrena gave so much to others and always with a keen, quick and intelligent wit.  She will be deeply missed by Roy, her husband of 58 years, two children Steve and Donna, daughter- in-law Susan, and granddaughter Taylor.  Lowrena is survived by brothers Buck and Buddy Frye and sister Lois Culler. The family rejoices that once again healthy and vibrant, “Low” is reunited in heaven with her youngest child, Keith.  Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday May 26 at Third Presbyterian Church with her funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM.   Committal services will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, 1420 E 7^th St. Char, NC 28204 or Third Presbyterian Church, 4019 Central Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205. her family.
