Susan Poe Porter, 57, of Charlotte, N.C. died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Elmcroft of Little Avenue.
She was born January 11, 1952 in Oakland, CA, a daughter of Rear Admiral Donald T. Poe and Helen Drumwright Poe, of Annapolis, MD. Susan was a 1974 graduate of Stratford College and was a Sales Representative with IPS Packaging of Charlotte, N.C.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at 2:30 PM, at Elmcroft of Little Avenue, 7745 Little Avenue, Charlotte with The Reverend Martin F. McCarthy, officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, William Cates; a son, Colin Porter; and a sister, Jeri Trentin, of Northern Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
