November 6, 1919 ~ April 29, 2009 |
|
Mrs. Helga Rosenberger passed away on April 29, at the age of 89. She was born in Berlin, Germany, on November 6, 1919, daughter of the late Heddy and Curt Loepert. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Hugo Rosenberger, and her daughter, Lynn Edelstein and her husband Paul; her grandchildren Mark Lerner and his wife, Alison; Gary Lerner and his wife, Donna; Eric and Aly Lerner; Julie Lerner Levine and her husband, Howard. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren – Sammy, Scott, Sean, Emily, Sari, Carly, Evan, and Sophie.
Gamma, as she was known to her family, will be remembered for her family dinners, her beautiful gardens and orchids, her paintings, pottery, and most of all by her family, who cherished her and admired her strength and courage. She loved to travel and enjoyed taking her grandchildren on many trips.
Helga was a member of Temple Israel, the Jewish Community Center, Hadassah, and volunteered with Jewish Family Services.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Peter Justis and the staff of Charlotte Medical Clinic for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank her special caregivers, Miriam Veloz, Lynda Hinson, and Carolyn Hough for their love and concern.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30 at Temple Israel at 3:00 PM.
Donations in Helga’s memory may be made to Jewish Family Services or to the Charlotte Jewish Day School.
Shiva Minyan will be at 7:45 PM Thursday and 7:00 PM Sunday at the home of Lynn and Paul Edelstein. |
