Sally Freeman Satterwhite, 79, of Charlotte, died Friday, September 11, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center.
She was born in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Carlton Powell Freeman and Mamie Downs Freeman. Mrs. Satterwhite was a homemaker and loving mother.
She was a faithful member of Back Creek Presbyterian Church. She was also a teacher for many years at the Back Creek Christian Academy Pre-School where she was loved by many and known affectionately as “Miss Sally”.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 11:00am at Back Creek Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 14, 2009, from 7:00-9:00 pm at the church.
Mrs. Satterwhite is survived by her daughters, Susan Kirby (Russell Allan) of Massachussets; Carolyn Lineberger (David), of Fayetteville, NC; Patti Friesner (Rick) and a son, Eugene Satterwhite of Charlotte, six grandchildren, Scott and Andrew Kirby; Matthew Lineberger, Heather Burleigh, Travis Biggerstaff and Henry Satterwhite, and three great-grandchildren, Mason, LeeAnna and James Burleigh. She is also survived by her brother Jimmy Freeman of Alabama, and special family friend Frank “Chip” Wampler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Ellis Satterwhite; her sister Gertrude Bredahl and a brother, Carlton Freeman.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
