|
Carol “Lynne” Deck Shoener, 62, of Rock Hill, formerly of Charlotte, passed from this life on Sunday, July 26, 2009.
The oldest daughter of William H. Deck and Caroline Mae Benton Deck, she was born on January 3, 1947 in Philadelpia, PA. As an adult she later relocated to Charlotte, NC where she raised her family.
Lynnie, as she loved to be called, received her Associate’s degree in Paralegal Technology from CPCC. She worked for several years as a paralegal, and later as an administrative specialist at Myers Park and Oakland Ave. Presbyterian Church. She loved expressing her creativity and relaxing by doing all types of crafts including jewelry making and crocheting/knitting. She enjoyed shopping and buying things for her loved ones. She especially treasured spending time with her “girls”, granddaughter, Jewel Lynne Wasson, and nieces, Caroline, Anna, Emmie and Ellie Farish. She greatly looked forward to welcoming her new grandson into this world in November of this year. She will be truly missed by her entire family.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Shoener Wasson and husband, Rick (whom she regarded as a son), son, Richard William Shoener and wife Star; sister, Dale Farish and husband, Paul; and brother, Bill Deck and his wife, Rita.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 30 at Oakland Ave. Presby. Church located at 421 Oakland Ave. in Rock Hill, SC at 11 am with family visitation immediately following the service. A private interment will be held prior to the service at Forest Lawn East, where she will be buried next to her parents.
