Mr. Smith of Charlotte, NC, beloved husband and brother, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He was born September 3, 1926 in Charlotte to the late Mack Carl Smith and Frances Elizabeth Smith. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy.
The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Smith will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at J. B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC, with Dr. Charles Foushee, Pastor, officiating. Internment will be at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Shipes.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Taylor Smith; brothers, Harry Smith and Jerry Smith; sisters, June Griffin, Virginia Bumgardner, Peggy Green, Betty Jo Goodson, Dixie Sims, Charlotte Hensley; and brothers-in-law, Don Sims and George Hensley.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert C. Allen for his care of Mack.
