STEELE BRICE WINDLE, JR. 

 

jULY 21, 1929 ~ DECEMBER 25, 2009 

 

Mr. Windle, 80, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, of Huntersville, N.C., formerly of Charlotte, died December 25, 2009 at his home.

 

He was born July 21, 1929 in Charlotte, N.C., son of the late Steele Brice Windle, Sr. and Evelyn Crook Windle. Mr. Windle served his country in the U.S Army 82nd Airborne Division and was the owner of Amada Band Saw Blades in this area, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of  Sardis Presbyterian Church.

 

A service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 Sardis Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. Jane B. Fobel, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at J.B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, Sunday, December 27.

 

He is survived by his wife, Ann Hoover “Dolly” Windle; children, Steele Brice “Al” Windle, III and his wife, Diane, Evelyn “Windi” Giblin Brady, and Mark Edward Windle, and his wife, Lisa, all of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren, Gregg and Missy Giblin, Chase Brady, Steele, Tucker, and Erin Windle, and Kasey and Mindy Windle; and two sisters, Evelyn Cannady Stecher, of St. Louis, MO., and Bea Blackman, of Elkin, N.C.

 

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and special thanks to Dr. Ketan Amin and Valoria, Dr. Warden Woodward and Kim and staff, Dr. Dr. Palmertree, Dr. Hunter Hoover, all the 4th and 6th floor Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Carolinas Medical Center-University, and to the Staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, Lake Norman Region.
