Obituary for Vernon Seymour Buffaloe

Vernon Seymour Buffaloe, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23. After two long months in the hospital, he was overjoyed to finally leave and go home! He spent his last hours surrounded in love and with his “not-so-great” great-nephew, JP (haha).

Vernon was proceeded in death by his parents, Ford Monroe Buffaloe, Sr. & Marcella Seymour Buffaloe of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and his kitty-love, Sampson. He is survived by his only brother, Ford Monroe (Irene) Buffaloe, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; niece Jennifer Parker & family; his family by love, if not blood, Alisha & James-Philip Ferguson; and Mama Cat.

Vernon was well-known throughout his community and has friends all over the eastern US. He grew up in Roanoke Rapids and attended school at High Point College. He loved good wine, good food, good friends, good laughs, and of course, his Cats. He had more loved ones than we can try to name. With an infectious smile and corny Bible jokes, Vernon spread love everywhere he went.

He will be greatly missed. There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Sharon Baptist Church in Southpark, Charlotte NC. Specific details will be available on his Facebook webpage6411 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210
Phone: (704) 552-1762 or by texting/calling 704-421-1899. Thank you for the out pouring of love, and in Vernon’s style, “Don’t cry over me- I am HOME.”
